The Director and Deputy Director of the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock Products of Balkh province along with Deputy CEO of Mofid Group, Industrial and Production Company, met and held discussion with Dr. Eamal Arman, the CEO of Agricultural Development Fund.
During the meeting, both sides discussed how to increase agricultural loan services to farmers and agribusinesses as well as to expand oil crop production, animal, and poultry feed, and in general how to further support the agricultural sector in Balkh province.
Then, the Deputy CEO of Mofid Group, Industrial and Production Company, provided inclusive information about their activities, particularly about provision of animal feed to farmers and farm owners during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Eamal Arman said that the Agricultural Development Fund has always tried to cooperate with farmers and agricultural trades to support agricultural sector and meet their loan needs. He added that ADF is at the service of the farmers and agribusinesses whereas it will not spare any endeavor in the development of agriculture sector.
Since inception, ADF has approved AFN 11.3 billion in loans and disbursed AFN 8.7 billion to agribusinesses, farmer cooperatives, agriculture and livestock associations, financial intermediaries, livestock farms, poultry farms, fisheries, dried and fresh fruits processors and exporters, chemical fertilizers shops and importers, and other value chain actors. These loans have directly benefited 53,302 farmers across 32 provinces of Afghanistan.
