The 25th session of the ADF High Council commenced with opening remarks by His Excellency Nasir Ahmad Durrani, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL), and Chairperson of the ADF High Council. The ADF business development and technical teams presented and secured the approval of three cases collectively reaching to AFN 705.5 million. The first approved case relates to one of the financial intermediaries that will be for five years benefiting over 4,000 farmers annually. The second approved loan will go to a dried fruit processing and exporting company that will directly benefit 20 beneficiaries, and the last approved case will go to a financial institution that will on-lend to over 2,000 farmer beneficiaries.
The Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) is a standalone institution constituted as a government development fund operating under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA).
Since its inception in 1389, the ADF has approved almost AFN 11.3 Billion in loans and disbursed funds of more than AFN 8.7 Billion directly benefiting 53,302 farmers and agribusinesses in Afghanistan.
